Driving in Snow is Hard

Well, hello there!  It’s been a bit longer than I thought considering my Goals for the Week post never went out on Monday :(  I could have sworn I scheduled it since I was going to be at training for my new job but I guess I never hit schedule.  Sorry about that!

Anyway, the snow is coming down here in New Jersey once again…I think it’s making up for all my Floridian winters as a child 😉  My new job involves cars (and that’s the only hint you’re getting) which means I’m often driving from place to place.  Well, today I got stuck on two different hills and was basically useless.  Whomp, whomp.  At least they know I’m originally from Florida and have never experienced snow like this so they were kind about it, and I wasn’t the only employee to get stuck today.  Either way, I was sent home around 10:00am since we were slow and, again, I was pretty much useless.  I’m assuming this whole driving in snow thing is something I’ll just have to get use to over time.

Snow Winter 2014

I was rushing this morning and completely forgot to take a picture of my breakfast but I had a smoothie which included 1 frozen banana, 1 cup blueberries, 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, about 4 ice cubes and Greenberry Shakeology.  It was delicious, per usual!

Lunch was horrendously unhealthy but we were working with what was in the fridge/freezer.  We split a Trader Joe’s pizza (not too shabby) but also made some Trader Joe’s parmesan pups about an hour later.

For dinner we had Trader Joe’s Pork Gyoza, Trader Joe’s Vegetable Fried Rice and Asian Green Beans (using Trader Joe’s frozen green beans).  Oh, how I love Trader Joe’s!!!

While we’re on the topic of food, next week I want to try eating a large breakfast, a medium lunch and a small dinner like this study suggest.  Since I pretty much had the day off I took some time to meal plan today.

I decided to do a circuit workout of my own instead of P90X3 (but I’ll be jumping back on the P90X3 band wagon tomorrow).  I did my Leg Pyramid and Jumping Jacks circuit workout and man, oh man were those last set of squats and burpees hard.

I actually created this workout a while ago but had yet to do it.  It was a great 20 minute, almost 250 calorie burner and I know my quads and hamstrings will be feeling it tomorrow in the best way possible.

I am in love with my job!!!  Yes, driving in the snow is a downside but the snow won’t be here forever.  It is so interactive, my co-workers are great and training this past week (Monday – Wednesday) was a blast!  This is the feeling I’ve been wanting and I think I finally found my niche.
