I’m Going to Bootcamp

Yup, that’s right!  I’m going to Tina Reale’s (online) Best Body Bootcamp, and I can’t wait!  It officially starts on Monday and I’m excited to have an eight week program to follow that truly integrates cardio and strength equally, and allows for some flexibility (I can keep my favorite group exercise classes)!

But before we get into the amazingness (<– totes not a real word…nor is totes ;)) of Best Body Bootcamp, let’s recap a bit from yesterday, shall we?

Breakfast

I don’t know what I did but the texture of this smoothie was INCREDIBLE.  It was so light and fluffy and just overall delicious.  (The recipe is at the bottom of this post!)

But I was pretty disappointed in myself for using vanilla protein powder when I had strawberry banana protein powder sitting in the pantry.  I just bought it and haven’t been making a lot of smoothies lately so I totally forgot.  Oh well, next time.

Dinner

Yup, we’re skipping snacks and lunch since I’ve been eating the same things all week.  Note: I could never eat the same thing every day but I definitely don’t mind for a whole week, and sometimes go through stages where I actually want it everyday (ahem Overnight Oats) but will eventually want to change it up.  Back to dinner…  Josh and I made Chicken Creole (via Housewife Glamour).

Holy cow that was SPIIIICY, and we didn’t even use all the chili sauce suggested.  But, it was really good.  We both agreed that next time we’d use a little less chili sauce and a lot more veggies.

So, what is Best Body Bootcamp?

Want in?!  Registration is open until September 15th (but remember it starts Monday, September 9th, and prices go up tomorrow).  It’s going to be AWESOME!

There are so many amazing things about this program but my two favorites are: lots of strength training and flexibility.  So, I can still go to Bodypump, Bodystep, Spinning, whatever I want!  I’m a planner and I love to plan out my workouts so here’s how I scheduled my next two weeks for Phase One.

A goal of mine is to be active every day, which is why instead of a rest day I have a 20 minute walk.  I feel better if at least do something so I think this will help to improve my overall mood on a daily basis.  I may be skipping the Bodypump on Saturdays if I’m too sore.  We’ll just have to wait and see.  I’m so, so, so excited to get started.

Simple Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl

Light, fluffy and fulfilling!
Ingredients
  • 10 Whole Frozen Strawberries
  • 1 Frozen Banana (I break mine into 3 pieces before freezing)
  • 1 Cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk + Another ½ Cup (or whatever milk you prefer)
  • 1 Scoop Vanilla, Strawberry, Banana, or Strawberry Banana Protein Powder
Instructions
  1. Put frozen fruit, 1 cup of milk and 1 scoop of protein power in the blender.
  2. Blend for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the remaining ½ cup of milk.
  4. Blend until the mixture is light and fluffy (or to whatever consistency you prefer!).
  5. Pour into a bowl and pretend your eating ice cream for breakfast!
