Mom’s in Town!

Well, hello there!  It’s been quite a while, hasn’t it?  It was an incredibly busy week but it was all worth it since I knew my mom was coming to town!!!  She came in Thursday night and I had Friday off along with the rest of the weekend.  So, what have we been up to so far?

Thursday

Thursday night I picked my mom up from the airport and we met Josh back at the house for some delicious Chinese food.  We figured it was something easy yet indulgent that Mom doesn’t get down in Titusville, FL.

Chinese Food

We ordered way too much food but I was happy we had so many options.

Friday

Mom and I made the decision Thursday night to sleep in as late as we could.  We slept until around 10:30am and felt very refreshed :) .  We decided on bagel sandwiches from a local bagel shop and then watched an episode of The Pioneer Woman while we digested before heading out for a hike.  (I’m seriously obsessed with The Pioneer Woman!!)  Our hike was absolutely beautiful.  Mom and I had no idea there was so much water and beauty just around the corner.  (GET READY FOR THE PICTURE EXPLOSION!!!)

After our hike we needed a little something just to get us through the day until dinner so I made us some delicious smoothies.  Into the blender went 1 banana, 5 frozen strawberries, 2 cups frozen mango chunks, 2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and 2 tsp Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder.

(Kiss Me Organics was kind enough to send me this bag so keep an eye out for a full review soon.)  I know the color of this smoothie is revolting but Mom and I both agreed that it was delicious!  For dinner we met Josh’s family at Latour, a local restaurant.  Mom and I split the crab cakes to start.

Sorry, not so pretty iPhone picture.

And we both got the Horseradish Crusted Salmon as our entrees.

Again, not a great picture.

I honestly don’t have the words to describe how delicious the food was.  (…and I’m running late for our next activity 😉 )  Just take my (non) word for it!!!  Okay, that’s all I have for now…I’ll be sure to share about today later on!  Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend!
