P90X3 Week 3 Review

Wow, I can’t believe it’s already been 3 weeks.  P90X3 is AMAZING!!!  The first three weeks consist of the same workouts so you’ll notice the schedule hasn’t changed.  Next week will be a transition week (with different workouts) and then I’ll start another set of workouts that will remain the same for the 3 weeks.  Anywho, let’s get to it, shall we?

Day 15 (Total Synergistics) – I have loved starting my weeks off with this workout.  It’s a bit more low key than the others and focuses a bit on balance.  Speaking of which, my balance has improved immensely in this routine.

Weights: I used 10 lbs for everything except for the Side Rise Punch where I upped my weights to 5 lbs.

Day 16 (Agility X) – As I said both on Instagram and the blog already, this is definitely one of the harder workouts thus far and gets me every time.  Each week, however, I’ve been able to push myself harder which I love!  I don’t think it will ever feel easy but I know I am and will feel stronger.

Day 17 (Rest) – Wednesday was my last day of work and since I drove a company car had to wait for Josh to come pick me up.  (This pushed my schedule back a bit.)  Josh also officially got his written/signed offer letter this day and therefore we officially got the apartment.  So, with all that being said, I decided to take the night off, we ordered Chinese food, and we just took the night to relax a bit before things got crazy this weekend.

Day 18 (The Challenge and X3 Yoga) – I spent most of the day packing but squeezed in an hour of workouts (to make up for Wednesday’s skipped workout) before Josh got home from work.  I upped my push up numbers from 12 to 15 and decreased my pull up number from 25 to 20.  By decreasing my pull up numbers I was able to hold at the bottom for a bit longer (I’m using a resistance band and door attachment instead of a pull up bar) and therefore really felt the burn.  I couldn’t resist taking a picture of the new definition in my arms.  It may seem small to some people but it’s serious progress for me.  I was always strong but never had much definition.  I can’t wait to see all the other changes that will happen over my 90 day journey.  Yoga was peaceful as usual and, again, my balance has really improved!

Day 19 (CVX) – This is still my favorite workout by far and each week I’m able to push myself harder – I love it!!!  I hope I continue to see this workout even as the schedule changes.

Weights: I used 5 lbs the entire workout.

Day 20 (The Warrior) – I love/hate the elevator push ups in this routine.  And the burnout section at the end (slow squats with an explosive jump) completely wears me out.  I won’t lie, I won’t be sad the week this workout doesn’t show up 😉

Not pictured are the 6 almonds I had as a snack between breakfast and lunch.  The Toasted Ravioli and Shrimp Scampi were from Cafe Pasta and absolutely delicious!

Day 21 (Rest Day) – Today was spent packing.  ALL.  DAY.  LONG.  The movers come tomorrow and we got almost everything done today which is a positive…but my workout didn’t happen.  The next few days may be a little funky but I’ll do my best to stay at least somewhat on track :)

Today is Emily’s birthday and my mom is in town so we’ll be going out to sushi for dinner.  And that’s all for this week, folks!
